What is podcasting?
Podcasting is an easy way to automatically download audio programs to your computer, iPod or other MP3 player. You subscribe to the podcast you want and whenever the program is updated, your computer downloads the audio so you can listen at your convenience.
Why do I want it?
No matter how much you love your favorite radio programs, life sometimes gets in the way of hearing them. When you subscribe to a program's podcast, every episode will always be automatically downloaded after it airs -you'll never miss a broadcast again! Podcasting lets you listen whenever and wherever it's convenient for you...in the car, at the gym, in the middle of the lake...
How do I get it?
In order to listen to podcasts you will need to first install a podcasting program, such as KUER's free Pubcatcher podcast manager. (Download Pubcatcher over there on the left.) You choose which programs you subscribe to, and Pubcatcher will check the Internet regularly and notifies you whenever it finds something new to download. Pubcatcher comes with RadioWest and Local News already subscribed for you. Pubcatcher even includes a list of KUERs favorite podcasts from other public radio stations. Another way to get our podcasts. iTunes features a Podcast Directory. If you search for KUER or Radiowest (one word) you will find us and can subscribe with the click of one button!
How does this thing work?
How to subscribe to the feeds in iTunes.
Click on one of the subscription links to the left with the  (iTunes icon) next to it. This should launch iTunes and ask if you want to subscribe to our Podcast. It's that easy!
Manually Subscribing to the feeds in iTunes.
Copy one of the corresponding URL links below. Click on the Podcasts menu item on the left hand side underneath Library. On the top menu, go to Advanced and choose Subscribe to Feed. In the window, paste in the desired feed URL and click OK. For instance, for RadioWest, enter: http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/kuer/.jukebox?action=viewPodcast&podcastId=228
The feed will now appear in the podcasts main window of your iTunes. Right-click on the feed and choose Update podcast to get the latest podcast segments.
