Washington, DC – The U.S. Senate worked through the weekend, and one result was a vote to advance an omnibus lands bill. It's wrapped more than a hundred different bills into one, measures that affect federal land everywhere from Virginia to California. One of the measures it contains is the latest version of the Washington County Lands Bill --something Utah Senator Bob Bennett has been working on for years. Sara Sciammacco has the story from Capitol Hill.

He says there's segregation going on in the country - and not just between red states and blue states. It's happening between towns and neighborhoods. Salt Lake City, UT – Sweet are the uses of -- bankruptcy. That might be the theme of a study done by Elizabeth Tashjian, an associate professor of finance at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. She and her colleagues Michael Lemmon and Yung-Yu Ma studied 500 business bankruptcies and found the process is pretty good at sorting out which firms have a chance to survive and do well and which ones ought to throw in the towel. She spoke to KUER's Dan Bammes.

Salt Lake City, UT – Charles Morey is Artistic Director of Pioneer Theatre Company. He's also a playwright and his newest work is called The Yellow Leaf. It's set in 1816 when Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, Mary Shelley and others went to Switzerland to escape scandal. Morey says their story reads like a soap opera, but his play is more than that. It's a window into the sexual mores, the politics and religious thought of the time. The Yellow Leaf premieres this weekend, and Thursday, Doug talks to Charles Morey and others about the play.

Salt Lake City, UT – Russell Roberts is an economist at George Mason University and a fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution. That may seem an unlikely resume for a fiction writer, but he's also recently finished his third novel. It's called The Price of Everything and in it he explores the economic forces that drive prosperity. Roberts says that our economy is able to achieve incredible things - without anyone being in charge. Wednesday, we'll talk to him about his ideas and how they apply to the nation's economic problems.

Salt Lake City, UT – Monday, Republican Jon Huntsman Jr was sworn in for his second term as Utah's Governor. He won with some 77% of the vote and last month the Washington Post called him the "Next Big Thing" in politics.
