Ali Vallarta

Manager of Events & Community Engagement

Ali joins the KUER team with over a decade experience in independent media, film festivals, and collaborations with blue-chip brands. As a multilingual and multi-national, Ali is passionate about seeing the stories at the heart of our communities unearthed for the screen, stage, and airwaves. She has crossed a variety of landscapes in support of independent storytelling, and her move to the Wasatch Front was no exception. When she’s not cooking-up opportunities for KUER, Ali can be found riding her horse, or gamely defending her home state of Florida.

Join KUED and KUER on Monday, February 11 at 7 p.m., for a free screening and discussion surrounding "Coal's Deadly Dust," at the Salt Lake City Library. FRONTLINE and NPR investigate the rise of severe black lung disease among coal miners, and the failure to respond. This joint investigation reveals the biggest disease clusters ever documented, and how the industry and the government failed to protect miners.

KUER — in conjunction with the Utah Broadcasters Association — will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, March 6th, from 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. in the University of Utah Student Union Ballroom. Meet with representatives from TV and radio stations throughout Utah and discuss open positions in the broadcast industry including sales, engineering, on-air, clerical, traffic, promotions, internships and more.
