10/26/10: On the Edge - Mental Health in Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah – Rick Peay says his first experience with euphoria was like an anointing from God. Peay has bipolar disorder and it wasn't until he landed in jail that he realized something was wrong. In fact, 40% of adults with serious mental disorders end up in jail or prison; it's become a sort of default treatment. This week, KUED premieres a new documentary on the mental health system and Tuesday, we'll talk to Peay and others about what's going wrong and what treatment programs are offering new hope.
