Commissioner Graves Threatens To Sue Utah County Over Harrassement Allegations

Utah County Commission
Utah County Commissioner Greg Graves

Utah County Commissioner Greg Graves is threatening to sue his fellow commissioners and Utah County. He said allegations of sexual harassment that were made public last December amount to defamation.

Graves said when other Utah County commissioners voted to make a sexual harassment claim against him public it amounted to defamation, libel and slander.

He said the 2017 harassment allegations from a female coworker are false and the information should not have been made public.

In December Utah County released an independent investigation of the commissioner. The report could not confirm sexual harassment claims but described him creating a hostile work environment for coworkers.

Utah County now has 60 days to respond to documents Graves filed. That sets in motion the first step to a possible lawsuit.

Graves’ term as commissioner runs out at the end of 2018. Since the harassment and bullying allegations came out against him he’s received numerous calls to resign.
