Republican congressional candidate John Curtis is leading fundraising totals heading into the final stretch of the 3rd District House race.
Curtis raised more than $300,000 in the third quarter, according to his most recent filings with the Federal Election Commission.
That’s almost three times what Democratic candidate Kathie Allen raised in the same period.
Although Allen began her campaign with more than half a million dollars in mostly small donations, Curtis has quickly narrowed the gap since winning the Republican nomination.
Meanwhile, third-party candidate Jim Bennett has raised close to $15,000for his bid. Bennett is running as a centrist under the a newly formed United Utah Party.
All three candidates will debate this week at Brigham Young University and again next week before the Nov. 7 election.
The winner of the 3rd District race will serve out the rest former Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s term.
