Wednesday 7, Misperceptions, the Media and the Iraq War
By Doug Fabrizio
Salt Lake City, UT –
Following the Iraq war, it was discovered that a substantial portion of the public had their facts wrong when it came to public policy involving 9/11, al Qaeda, the role of Saddam and al-Qaeda. In polls conducted after the war with Iraq was over a number of those polled believed weapons of mass destruction had been found. The results were cross-referenced with the news sources of those polled, and some news sources had less misperceptions than others. Dr. Stephen Kull and Proffessor Susan Moeller of the University of Maryland will be talking to Doug about these findings and what they say about a media bias.
