5/15/07: Tanning and Your Skin

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with more than 1 million cases annually. And it's not just the summer sun that's placing us at risk. With tanning beds, people are keeping their "golden glow" throughout the year. Doctors warn though that any exposure to UV radiation increases a person's risk of cancer. Tuesday on RadioWest, we'll talk about the price of tanning and about the social and cultural values we place on our complexion.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and you can learn more about protecting your skin on-line from the American Cancer Society or by calling 800-ACS-2345.
