Salt Lake City, UT – If you've ever wondered how politics became such ruthless business, you've probably been thinking of some dirty tricks straight out of Lee Atwater's playbook. Called the "happy hatchet man" and "Darth Vader" of the GOP, the infamous Republican consultant was adviser to Ronald Reagan and the senior George Bush - as well as a mentor to Karl Rove. A new documentary is just out. It's called Boogie Man, and Thursday, director Stefan Forbes joins Doug to talk about the person one Congresswoman called "the most evil man in America."
On Friday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m., Stefan Forbes will be at the Tower Theatre for a panel discussion on negative political campaigning following a screening of Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story. The panel will be moderated by KRCL's Troy Williams, and the other panelists are Jenny Wilson, David Hansen and Patrick Shea. Tickets are available at the Tower Theatre box office. Call (801) 321-0310 or click here. Sponsored by the Salt Lake City Film Center and KUED Channel 7.
