Salt Lake City, Utah – Aaron David Miller says that while Arabs and Israelis are responsible for negotiating peace - America has made our own promise. We've said that somehow we'd help deliver what "God, the British and the United Nations couldn't." Miller served as an advisor to six secretaries of state and helped formulate the US policy on the Middle East - and he's written a book about America's role in the peace process. He's in Utah this week and Tuesday he joins Doug to talk about "The Much Too Promised Land."
Aaron David Miller is in Utah as a guest of the Tanner Humanities Center at the University of Utah. He'll speak Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the I.J. and Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center. The lecture, entitled "Gulliver's Troubles: Obama and America in the Middle East," is this year's David Gardner Lecture on the Humanities and Fine Arts. For details or for information on the "Middle East Making Peace" conference (March 8, 9 and 10), click here or call 801-581-7989.
