Salt Lake City, Utah – By the year 2050, the population in the United States is expected to reach 400 million people. That number represents a fertility rate that's easily out-pacing many other advanced nations. While some see growing populations as a burden on resources, demographer and author Joel Kotkin says this projected growth is one of the strongest indicators of America's long-term economic strength. Kotkin is coming to Utah next month. Tuesday, he joins Doug to talk about "The Next Hundred Million."

On May 18, Joel Kotkin will speak as part of the Zions Bank Trade and Business Conference in Salt Lake City. For details and tickets, call (801) 844-8573 or visit Zions Bank on-line
