Salt Lake City, Utah – In 1964, composer Terry Riley crafted "In C." It changed the rules of classical music and gave birth to the minimalist movement. The score is only one page long and lays out phrases for the musicians of an ensemble to explore independently. So each performance is unique and the piece has been played as rock, jazz - even on traditional Chinese instruments. Salt Lake Electric Ensemble is releasing a new recording and Wednesday, they join us live in studio to talk about Riley and to play "In C."
