Salt Lake City – Singer, dancer and actress Rita Moreno has said "I've always had that juice, and I knew if someone just gave me the chance to show it, they'd get an incredible performance out of me." Getting that chance though was a struggle against racism and typecasting in the entertainment industry. But in 1961, Moreno won an Academy Award for her role in "West Side Story" and went on to earn a "grand slam" with an Emmy, a Grammy and a Tony. Moreno is coming to Utah this weekend, and Thursday she joins us.
Rita Moreno will perform this Saturday, July 17th at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater in Layton. The evening begins at 8:00 p.m. For more information or to buy tickets, call 801-546-8575 or click here
