8/25/10: The War on Unhappiness

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, Utah – Wednesday on RadioWest, we're talking about the state of psychology in America today. Freud may remain an enduring symbol of the field, but a lot has changed since he visited the United States in 1909. He believed that we could uncover a patient's pathology, but never really cure the problems. Now, psychology is about making people optimistic, efficient, strong and fit. Psychotherapist Gary Greenberg joins Doug to talk about what he calls "The War on Unhappiness."

Gary Greenberg's article "The War on Unhappiness" appears in the September issue of Harper's Magazine
