12/6/10: Memory and the Fog of War

Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, Utah – Monday, we're talking about the "fog of war." It's a term that expresses how the truth can get twisted in the chaotic moments of armed conflict and the idea is playing a role in the story of post traumatic stress disorder. Salt Lake Tribune reporter Matthew LaPlante is joining us to talk about his coverage of veterans who are haunted by memories of traumatic experiences - experiences that didn't always happen the way they remember. Memory is complicated.

Read Matthew LaPlante's For some vets, memories can conflict with the truth of war in the December 5 Salt Lake Tribune
