12/31/10: In C

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, Utah – In 1964, composer Terry Riley crafted "In C." It changed the rules of classical music and gave birth to the minimalist movement. The score is only one page long and lays out phrases for the musicians of an ensemble to explore independently. So each performance is unique and the piece has been played as rock, jazz - even on traditional Chinese instruments. Friday, our conversation about and music from "In C." (Rebroadcast)
