Salt Lake City, Utah – Sundance Film Festival gets underway tomorrow, and we're beginning our coverage with a look at the documentary film "We Were Here." It's about the devastation of the AIDS epidemic in the early 1980s and the response from the gay community in San Francisco. We'll talk with director David Weissman and others about that reaction and compare it to the way today's young gay community is thinking about AIDS and HIV.
"We Were Here" premieres this Saturday, January 22 at Noon at the Temple Theater in Park City as part of the Sundance Film Festival.
On Sunday, January 23 at 3:45 p.m. it will screen at the Broadway Center Cinema in Salt Lake City. At 6:00 p.m., director David Weissman will be part of a panel discussion hosted by the Utah AIDS Foundation. That event will be at The Tavernacle (201 East 300 South in Salt Lake City).
