Salt Lake City, Utah – The scholar Susan Jacoby may sound harsh when she says it, but she makes this clear in her latest book: 90 is not the new 50. It's not even the new 70. Jacoby says Americans have been sold a myth about old age. The truth is there is no fountain of youth; people who live into their ninth and tenth decades are likely to face ailments that will exhaust their resources. Tuesday, Susan Jacoby joins Doug to explain how a realistic look at old age can help society and individuals prepare for it.
