Utah's Minimum Wage Workers

By Dan Bammes

Salt Lake City – When Democrats take control of Congress next month, one thing they plan to do immediately is to raise the federal minimum wage from $5.15 to more than seven dollars an hour. A new study by the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah says that would affect more than 84-thousand workers in Utah who earn seven dollars or less. Community advocate Pamela Atkinson serves on the task force that commissioned the study. She spoke with KUER's Dan Bammes.

The full text of the study is available from the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah.
