Salt Lake City, UT – After 45 days of handwringing and hard work, lawmakers signed off on a $10.6 billion dollar budget just hours short of the final gavel falling at midnight. The bulk of their time was spent on how to deal with a whopping $1 billion dollar shortfall in state revenues. The 2009 session, with a couple of exceptions, brought much cooperation and civil negotiation.
