Ali joins the KUER team with over a decade experience in independent media, film festivals, and collaborations with blue-chip brands. As a multilingual and multi-national, Ali is passionate about seeing the stories at the heart of our communities unearthed for the screen, stage, and airwaves. She has crossed a variety of landscapes in support of independent storytelling, and her move to the Wasatch Front was no exception. When she’s not cooking-up opportunities for KUER, Ali can be found riding her horse, or gamely defending her home state of Florida.

This event is free for members of The Front, and guests can join with a day pass purchase. We will be tabling, Joshy Soul will be performing, there will be food from Rumsy's, local brews, yard games, and local artisans.

On Tuesday, February 26 at noon MST, and again at 6 p.m. MST, the online discussion group Living Room Conversations will host a live, virtual discussion based on the "Tribalism 101" episode of KUER's podcast Next Door Strangers. Next Door Strangers host Andrea Smardon will lead the conversation, during which participants can tune in — and chime in — via their home computers.

Join RadioWest on Wednesday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m., for a special panel celebrating the life of author Ellen Meloy, and her newly released collection of radio essays from 1994-1998, Seasons: Desert Sketches. Faultline Film Awards / KUER

On Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m., the RadioWest original short documentary DARK SKIES will screen at the Faultline Film Awards — a culminating celebration of the Faultline Film Festival's winning entries. The Faultline Fest is a local film competition for local filmmakers and for films about Utah’s incredible outdoors and wilderness.

Tanzina Vega is bringing The Takeaway to Salt Lake City for a live show on Thursday, June 6.

She'll be leading a discussion about the abduction and murder of indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people in the Mountain West and across the country. The conversation will touch on the role that law enforcement plays, the need for better data and what communities and local government are doing to end the cycle of violence. Confirmed guests include journalist Graham Lee Brewer, Representative Angela Romero, and PANDOS board member Jennifer Boyce. Join the audience as Tanzina and her guests talk about the crisis and look for solutions to the cycle of violence.

Join KUED and KUER on Monday, February 11 at 7 p.m., for a free screening and discussion surrounding "Coal's Deadly Dust," at the Salt Lake City Library. FRONTLINE and NPR investigate the rise of severe black lung disease among coal miners, and the failure to respond. This joint investigation reveals the biggest disease clusters ever documented, and how the industry and the government failed to protect miners.

KUER — in conjunction with the Utah Broadcasters Association — will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, March 6th, from 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. in the University of Utah Student Union Ballroom. Meet with representatives from TV and radio stations throughout Utah and discuss open positions in the broadcast industry including sales, engineering, on-air, clerical, traffic, promotions, internships and more.
