Congressman Bishop Gets A New Chief Of Staff

Brian Grimmett
Congressman Rob Bishop

First congressional district congressman Rob Bishop has selected Devin Wiser to fill the position left open by the departure of Scott Parker.

Wiser was born and raised in Cache Valley and is a graduate of Utah State University. He also has a law degree from George Mason University. Wiser started working for Bishop as an intern and steadily rose through the ranks,  most recently working as Deputy Chief Counsel for the House Committee on Natural Resources. Lee Lonsberry is the director of communications for Bishop. He says Wiser has shown that he’s well-rounded and will be a great asset.

“In every one of his capacities he excelled and impressed those around him and certainly impressed the congressman,” he says.

Bishop’s previous Chief of Staff, Scott Parker, is leaving the position to work full-time for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a member of the Washington DC Temple staff.
