Intermountain Medical Center and LDS Hospital Named National Medical Destinations of Excellence

Intermountain Healthcare will be partnering with EdisonHealth Network to provide organ and bone marrow transplants to patients from across the country.

EdisonHealth Network helps large companies across the United States provide their workers with specialized and complex health care. To help these companies keep health care costs down they’re creating a national network of hospitals they call “Medical Destinations of Excellence.” These hospitals, that now include Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and LDS Hospital in Salt Lake, offer evidence-based care proven to result in better outcomes and fewer complications. Because of that, EdisonHealth officials say it’s worth it to pay for their members travel costs.

Intermountain Healthcare spokesman Jess Gomez says it’s an honor to be chosen to take part in the network.

“I think it demonstrates the success that we have with our transplant programs at Intermountain Medical Center and LDS Hospital for the high quality care they provide,” he says.

The network currently includes four other hospitals in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Washington.
