Some SLC Residents Can Now Sign Up For Google Fiber

Google Fiber

Google Fiber is now serving people in parts of downtown Salt Lake City. The company announced Tuesday that it has also opened a retail space in Trolley Square.

Google Fiber Spokeswoman Angie Welling says people can begin signing up for the super-speed internet, but only if they live within a certain radius.

“It’s roughly 400 West to 1300 East and 100 South to 800 South,” Welling says. “So really, it encompasses the entire downtown area, central city, and up to the University.”

Welling says expansion throughout the Salt Lake area is ongoing.

WELLING: “Our ultimate goal is to try to serve every address in Salt Lake City,” she says. “Businesses, small-medium size businesses and residents. So we’re continuing to construct in areas outside this city center area.”

Plans start at $50/month for 100 megabits per second. Customers can also purchase plans for gigabit internet and TV.
