If you’re looking for a more grown-up experience to ring in the new year, but still want to be near the family-friendly EVE celebration, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art is mixing local cocktails and art for its Hops & Spirits VIP Experience tonight.
Hops & Spirits features locally made Epic Brewing beer, Beehive Distilling’s Jack Rabbit Gin, Vida Tequila, and Five Wives Vodka, all paired with small bites from the restaurants, Pago and Finca. From 8 pm to 1 am, the museum space will be filled with live music from some of the EVE Winterfest headliners and DJ’s. Christian Anderson is executive director of UMOCA.
“It’s a more adult beverage and music-driven event than you might associate with the Downtown Alliance EVE stuff which is much more family friendly. So we’re definitely looking for a more adult, elevated contemporary art, VIP New Year’s Eve experience.”
Admission is $100 per person. The price includes four craft beverages and a champagne toast at midnight, a pass to EVE Winterfest, access to the Body Worlds exhibit at the Leonardo and admission to ice skating at the Gallivan Center.
