This summer, KUER’s signature show RadioWest will be taking a short hiatus from our broadcast schedule. Doug Fabrizio and his team will be stepping back from the program they’ve aired each weekday for 18 years to rethink and retool. The break will begin on May 27 and last a few months. In the meantime, here’s how to stay connected to Doug and the show before their return at the end of the summer.

KUER

Starting Nov. 10, KUER will welcome some new additions to our program schedule: Hidden Brain (Saturdays at 9 p.m., Sundays at 1 p.m.) is a mix of science and storytelling, hosted by NPR contributor Shankar Vedantam. On Being with Krista Tippett (Sundays at 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.) is the Peabody Award-winning conversation about the big questions of meaning.

KUER is committed to bringing you programming that’s both captivating and relevant. To do so, we occasionally need to make changes to our lineup. Starting this weekend, you’ll hear several new shows across our weekly schedule, as well as new start times for other shows. These changes will help us bring you deeper coverage of issues surrounding the midterm elections — and we’ll showcase some emerging, fresh voices.

Weekdays (effective Sept. 17)

This week we’ll launch some new programs that will debut on KUER. The majority of these programs will be added as a result of our decision to discontinue jazz music programming. Readers of The Salt Lake Tribune and listeners to Steve Williams’ jazz program already know about the change to the jazz music format. We’ve responded by e-mail or phone to everyone who has contacted us directly, and have reached out to some people who posted Facebook comments and messages as well.
