Tourism is a big business in Utah. In 2018 alone, the industry generated $9.75 billion and brought in travelers from all over the world. That included a record number of visitors to the state’s national parks and ski resorts.

The Transportation Security Administration has quietly ordered a nationwide freeze on hiring and overtime for airport security screeners amid record-breaking numbers of airline passengers and the spring break travel season just weeks away, Homeland Security officials say.

The president of the construction firm targeted Thursday by immigration agents with a federal search warrant at the Salt Lake City International Airport defended his business, saying it's “a good company.”

Bruce King, president of Pete King Commercial, a North Las Vegas, Nev.-based company, said in a phone interview that he was not happy with the enforcement action that occurred Thursday morning.
