Preferred Drug List Moves Ahead

Salt Lake City, UT – Health care advocates were back on Utah's Capitol Hill yesterday, pushing for what's called a "preferred drug list" that doctors could prescribe from for Medicaid patients. That's the state's health insurance program for the poor. Advocates say it can save the state millions of dollars a year. But they're up against a powerful pharmaceutical lobby. Also introduced yesterday were a handful of bills that get tough on child sex offenders. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
