Salt Lake City, UT – The 2009 General Session of the Utah Legislature opened on Capitol Hill yesterday.
During the 45-day general session - lawmakers face the prospect of a $450 million dollar shortfall as they put together next fiscal year's budget. And they could cut as much as 7 and a half percent from the rest of this year's budget. Lawmakers are calling upon the public for innovative ideas in solving the state's budget woes. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
