Seven-day Case Average: 274 | Current Hospitalizations: 133 | ICU Beds In Use 65.9%
The seven-day average case count has gone down 23.7% since Sept. 15. The seven-day average of new hospital admissions has gone up 3.9%, and ICU cases have decreased 1.9%. Meanwhile, about 53% of the Utah wastewater sites that are monitored have elevated or increasing virus concentrations. Those sites serve about 88% of the population.
Utah has had a total of 1,036,535 COVID-19 cases, and 38,461 people have been hospitalized. As of Sept. 22, 16 people are in the ICU for COVID and 5,011 Utahns have died from the virus.
Just over 63% of all Utahns are fully vaccinated, while nearly 68% of the U.S. population is fully vaxxed.

Who’s eligible for a vaccine?
Everyone over the age of 6 months is eligible for the vaccine.
COVID-19 booster shots that target the omicron variant are now available in Utah.
Anyone over the age of 12 who hasn’t had a booster in the last two months can get the Pfizer version. The Moderna version is available to people 18 and older.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported that people who have been infected with COVID recently should wait about three months before getting the booster, but those attending crowded events or traveling internationally should get it sooner.

As of Sept. 15, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported all Utah counties are in the low community level.
