Utah Senate Race

By Jenny Brundin

Salt Lake City – Republican U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch will become the longest-serving Utah politician in office if he's elected to his sixth term. His Democrat challenger is Pete Ashdown, the founder of the local internet service provider Xmission. Ashdown says it's time for a new voice from Utah, someone with a fresh perspective and business acumen. Hatch says his experience and status in Washington has served Utah well, giving it power equal to that of much larger states like California. KUER's Jenny Brundin has this overview of the race.
