Salt Lake City, UT – Legends and new stars fill out the 2002-'03 Jazz at the Sheraton season was kicked off A Aug. 21 with a performance at Abravanel Hall by one of the most influential pianists of the last 50 years, Dave Brubeck.

Following Brubeck are saxophonist Joshua Redman, Sept. 23; drummer Jeff Hamilton, Oct. 21; guitarist Russell Malone, Nov. 18; bassists Ray Brown, John Clayton and Christian McBride, Jan. 27; vocalist Tierney Sutton, Feb. 17; pianist Kenny Barron, March 24; saxophonist James Moody, April 21; and pianist Ahmad Jamal, May 12.

The concert series is a non-profit event founded by Mike MacKay and Gordon Hanks. Proceeds are donated to music programs in Utah's public schools.

Stephen Williams is the long time Jazz host of KUER's nightly Jazz Program and a Jazz enthusiast.
