Salt Lake City, UT – The Utah legislature passed the halfway mark of its general session yesterday. A full five hours of floor time allowed them to pass legislation on the death penalty and teens driving with cell phones, among other items. But first, professional soccer is not yet dead in Utah. Eight days after Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon said a Sandy soccer stadium is a "gamble" and a "risky investment," the Utah Senate signed off on a plan that would enable the team to stay in Utah. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
