Tuff Gong: Hope Road, Kingston, Jamaica 1976 (c) David Burnett

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – In 1976, Time Magazine sent photographer David Burnett to cover the reggae scene in Jamaica. Reggae hadn't really hit the United States yet, and Burnett - an established photojournalist - hadn't heard of Bob Marley until a week before the trip. It turned out to be a "dream assignment," and all told, Burnett captured some 200 images of the music legend. Tuesday, Doug talks to Burnett about Bob Marley as seen in his book "Soul Rebel."

  • To see images of Bob Marley from David Burnett's book, visit Burnett's web-site.
  • On Wednesday, August 26th, Salt Lake native David Burnett will speak and sign his book at the King's English Bookshop. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. For more information, call the store at 801-484-9100 or click here.
