Salt Lake City, UT – Conspiracy theories have always been part of US political culture - from rumors of George Washington being part of a Freemason cabal to today's questions about Barack Obama's birth. As tempting as it may be to dismiss it as fringe paranoia, the scholar Mark Fenster says that if we ignore them we miss an opportunity to understand American political culture. Thursday, Fenster joins us to explain what these theories say about inequities of power, cynicism - and the longing for a better future.
