Utah Legislature Looks at Natural Gas Vehicles
By Dan Bammes
Salt Lake City, UT – Utah has abundant natural gas as well as a serious problem with urban air pollution. Utah Governor Jon Huntsman proposed a "natural gas corridor" in his address to the legislature Tuesday. Members of the House Transportation Committee responded by passing a resolution unanimously to help build the infrastructure for more vehicles powerded by compressed natural gas.
The legislature's appropriations committees are also trying to whittle 400-million dollars out of the state budget for the current fiscal year, and hoping to finish this job right away before they tackle the coming year's budget.
KUER's Dan Bammes has more.
