California Governor Gray Davis is hopeful that the long-term contracts the state has begun signing with power generators will guarantee enough electricity at affordable prices to help California recover from its electricity crisis. But others say the deals won't provide much relief, especially during the hot summer months. Meanwhile, a federal judge holds a hearing today on whether to extend his order that a major power generator keep selling electricity to the California market. NPR's Richard Gonzales reports.
