7/12/06: Soccer Culture Stateside

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – Sure, the soccer mom may be an iconic image of the contemporary American family. But despite as many as six million players in the United States under the age of 18, the sport has failed to ignite the passions of spectators as it does in the rest of the world. Doug talks to Jeffrey Toobin, whose article "Un-American Activity" appeared in last week's New Yorker and with economist Andrew Zimbalist, author of "National Pastime: How Americans Play Baseball and the Rest of the World Plays Soccer."
