2/11/09: Return to Sender
By Doug Fabrizio
Salt Lake City, UT – The writer Julia Alvarez describes herself as a "Dominican, hyphen, American," and she says that her work is about the things that happen in the hyphen - that place between two worlds. Her most recent book is for young readers, and it tackles questions about immigration from the point of view of two children - an 11-year-old Vermont boy and the daughter of an undocumented family. Alvarez is in Salt Lake City, and she joins us in studio to talk about the truths that transcend borders.
Julia Alvarez is in Salt Lake City as a guest of The King's English Bookshop. She will present her book "Return to Sender" Wednesday, February 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the store. For details, call 801-484-9100 or click here
