Salt Lake City, Utah – As our relationship with animals has developed over the course of time, we've generally come to recognize that creatures experience pain and stress. But what of pleasure and happiness? Dr. Jonathan Balcombe argues that positive feelings are evolutionarily adaptive, and he says that contrary to popular myth, survival and pleasure are actually quite compatible. Balcombe joins us to talk about how animals enjoy themselves, and what that means ethically for both science and society. (Rebroadcast)
