The Naked and Famous have a show at The Depot on Sunday, October 30.

In Lying Awake(Vintage) by Mark Salzman, a Carmelite nun living in Los Angeles is suddenly struck with numinous visions.  But are they just the result of a medical condition?  Betsy Burton says “Salzman has again distilled a deeply felt passion to its purest essence, a state in which things don’t make sense but simply are—or are not.”

Then, The Naked and Famous blend pop and electronica to create their energetic sound.  Two of the members broke up with each other, but that didn’t kill the band, and they’ve released three albums now.  The Naked and Famous will perform at The Depot on Sunday, October 30th.

Music by The Naked and Famous heard on this Books & Beats:

1: “Young Blood”

2: “Hearts like Ours”

3: “Higher”
