Huntsman Finally Faces Senate Hearing For Russia Post

Department of State

Former Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. is finally getting a confirmation hearing for the position of U.S. ambassador to Russia.

Huntsman will appear Tuesday morning before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where he’ll likely be grilled by Democratic senators over Russian meddling into the 2016 election.

Sen. Mike Lee, who worked for Huntsman as governor, said he expects a speedy confirmation by both the committee and full Senate.

President Trump nominated Huntsman to serve as ambassador over the summer. He also was ambassador to China under the Obama administration and ambassador to Singapore under the first President Bush.
