Curtis’ Non-Opioid Directive Act Aims To Combat Opioid Addiction By Giving Control To Patients
Rep. John Curtis, R-UT, has introduced legislation he said will help combat opioid addiction. It would let patients state in their medical records that they don’t want to be given opioids. Dr. Shane Brogan, director of pain medicine with Huntsman Cancer Institute said the bill has good intentions, but a more important step would be to make it easier to access other pain treatment options — like physical therapy.
