Protests and blockades of clinics that perform abortions are up dramatically around the nation, including Colorado, the first state in the union to pass a law legalizing abortion more than fifty years ago.
A federal judge heard arguments today over whether or not he should grant Planned Parenthood a preliminary injunction that would prevent the state from cutting off some of their funding until after the case has been heard in court.
Funding for Planned Parenthood in Utah will continue at least for a couple more weeks. A U.S. District Court judge Tuesday blocked an order issued by Governor Gary Herbert to cut off federal money going to the organization.
