Salt Lake City, UT – Utah's Washington County is the 5th fastest growing county in the US, and everyone involved agrees that a strategy is needed to manage that growth. Senator Bob Bennett and Congressman Jim Matheson are sponsoring a bill which designates 219,000 acres as wilderness area, and identifies BLM land for sale and for use as utility corridors, off-highway vehicle trails, and conservation areas. Environmentalists, however, are calling for more public discussion. Guest host Jennifer Napier-Pearce talks to Bennett and Matheson, as well as Scott Groene from Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and Washington County Commissioner James Eardley about strategies and compromise for growth.
