Salt Lake City, UT – Handel's Messiah has become closely associated with the Christmas season, but when it was first performed in 1742, it was during the Lenten season. Wednesday on RadioWest, we'll look at how it is the depressed composer wrote one of the world's most enduring pieces of music in just 24 days. Doug is joined by playwright and author Tim Slover for a biographical look at the oratorio.
- Handel's Messiah throughout Utah:
- The Oratorio Society of Utah will perform Handel's Messiah twice this weekend. On Friday, December 7 at 7:30, the performance will be held at the Scera Theater in Orem - 801-225-2569.
