Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life to Open at The Leonardo
The newest Body Worlds exhibit at The Leonardo Museum in downtown Salt Lake City promises to a new perspective on a familiar theme.
The Cycle of Life is the third Body Worlds exhibit to come to Salt Lake and a follow up to the recent show, Animals Inside Out. Visitors to the new exhibit will be able to see real human bodies and discover more about the journey the body takes from conception through old age. Alexandra Hesse is the Executive Director of The Leonardo. She says they’re excited for the exhibit because it fits in perfectly with the museum’s mission.
“It has that authenticity, and that transformational quality that we really want to bring to our visitors when they come to the museum,” Hesse says.
Dr. Angelina Whalley is the creative designer behind the exhibit. She says she hopes people who see it will learn something about themselves.
“The exhibition is really designed to help people understand that the body is not just a divine gift or bounty of nature, it is the result of your lifestyle," Whalley says. "It’s your life long responsibility. Whatever you do to your body, it matters. It immediately affects the way you look, how you feel, and how you age.”
Body World & The Cycle of Life opens to the public this Saturday.
