Salt Lake City No Kings rally marked by protest, community and joy

On a warm October morning, thousands came to the Utah Capitol building to protest the Trump Administration. Between the speakers, music, signs and costumes, it had the general air of a block party.

Terri Trick has been searching for what exactly happened to her uncle, naval aviator Howard Allen Holding, since she first heard that his fighter plane could have been found in 2010. That search ended this June when Trick’s DNA matched with unidentified remains that had been buried at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. Holding was finally laid to rest in Salt Lake City, Oct.17, 2025, 81 years after being shot down over the South Pacific Ocean during WWII.

No longer an unknown WWII grave, Howard Holding is finally back home — in Utah

Holding died in a plane crash over the Pacific in 1944. His remains were positively identified this summer and brought back to Utah, where he was buried with full military honors 81 years later.
