Budget Woes Cause Widespread Medicaid Cuts

Faced with tough budgetary problems, virtually all the states and Washington DC have cut, or plan to cut, revenues for Medicaid, the program that provides medical coverage for the poor. NPR's Michele Norris talks with Vernon Smith of Health Management Associates. He is lead author of an updated survey on Medicaid spending.
