Salt Lake City, UT –

Listen to the Show

Make love, not war might be said to be the theme of Aristophanes' play Lysistrata. Overwhelmed by the Peloponnesian War, Aristophanes sought to write a comical play opposing the war. Lysistrata is the story of the women of Athenians who decide to withhold sex to impel their men to peace. The play is being preformed in 43 countries today, a response to a looming war in Iraq. Guests, Professor Linda Brown, Director of Lysistrata, playing tonight at 7:00p.m. at the Salt Lake Public Auditorium, 210 E. 400 S.

Dr. Richard Scharine, Theater Faculty at the University of Utah, teaching Theater and Theater History.

Julie Jensen, Playwright for the Salt Lake Acting Company.
